Elnet Foundation official launching program was held at Hilton hotel on October 8, 2022; with an audience made up of higher government officials, local and international NGO, our donating partners, ambassadors and diplomatic communities. Elnet Foundation is the CSR wing of Elnet Technology Group, a group of 17 companies existing all across Ethiopia, as well as Kenya, UAE, South Sudan among other countries.
Elnet Foundation started as a dream – a dream to see a better Ethiopia for our children and grandchildren. A place full of playgrounds, where children do not need to beg on the street, but instead they are living life to the full; going to school with a lunchbox full of food, going to bed with their tummy full at night in a safe and loving home. Living their lives in healthy, safe cities, and on the country side in vigorous places with strong food systems.
Elnet Foundation focuses on the poorest of the poor; those that are neglected and taken for nothing. It might be a person, a place or even an animal. We do not despise even the saddest looking creature; we believe even such deserves to live life to the full.
We see creation as one integral system where one part is dependent on another; neglecting different parts of that system would inevitably cause damage to it.
That is why we work with the One Health Approach; seeing our society as inevitably interconnected, and in need of holistic care and interventions.
We have also adopted an approach of working with expert organizations; some of them having been active in Ethiopia for over 30-40 years. This has enabled us to quickly gain traction and momentum in our programs, as these expert organizations are well placed to efficiently deliver quality programs in line with our Strategic Plan.
Furthermore, we work through churches and grass roots levels initiatives to reach the most vulnerable groups that may not be easy to reach for established institutions.
We also work on people’s mind, hearts and characters through different ministry support to see people applying forgiveness, dignity and care for oneself and others.
After one year of existence, the time has come to officially launch our Foundation, as well as celebrating the many achievements made over the past year.
